It’s been awhile

Well, my mom is doing…. o.k.  She had something odd/weird/unbelievable happen to her 3 days ago.  She said she went to the bathroom to take a shower.  While scrubbing and washing and cleaning and rinsing, she felt something weird…. in her Vag.  During this time I was not there.  I was at the Angel’s game watching them win.  But the next morning I went over to the house and she was speaking to my uncle (her brother) and he was saying alot of prayers and speaking about God.  After she spoke with him for about 10 mins, she asked to speak to my Grandmother (her mom).  They spoke for a long time in Garifuna (which I can’t understand but I could tell something was wrong because she switched from English to her Belizean Dialect).  I waited to hear the news.  I decided to call my older bro that lives in Seattle to see how he was doing.  We spoke for a bit and then I let him talk to my mom since she was done talking on the phone.  She updated him on her eating habits and how she feels generally.  Once she got off the phone with him she said “Something scary happened last night”.  I starred at her.  “i was showering and I was cleaning my self down there and I felt something coming out”.  My eyebrows furrowed.  “I’m only telling you this because you are a woman and your grandmother and I have had problems with our uterus, it moves”  She took me to the restroom and put her leg up on the toilet lid.  With a mirror I could see what she was talking about!  OMG!  WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!?!?!?  Her fucking Uterus had dropped down her canal due to all the fluid in her belly and was sticking out of her vag.  I didn’t think this was humanly possible.  I’ve NEVER heard of this.  I was worried, she said she had an appointment with the doc the following day.  *sigh*

She screamed for my dad when she felt this lil mass starting to poke out.  He said “Do you want me to take you to Emergency?”  She said “let me call Carol (her sister in law who is an Registered Nurse).  She said it was Prolapsed Uterus and she made an appointment for her with a friend who works in the same hospital.

We went to the appt, it took FOREVER!!!!  County hospitals I tell ya… SMDH.  Finally we got to see the old family friend doc.  She took care of my Grandfather years ago when he had cancer, she took care of my grandma who is still healthy as can be, and a number of family members.  She’s awesome.  Her name is Sue.  She did a pelvic exam on my mom and had to have a specialist come in to see if she could use the pessaries to help keep the uterus up.  The DUDE came in (which my mom was shy and nervous about) he did an examination too and said “Yes let’s try it”  So they inserted this donut looking thing inside her to help support the uterus from falling out.  Weird huh?  yea, I still have to wrap my head around all this.  Wow.
